Over the past 12 years Lloyd has been engaged in a variety of consulting opportunities and experiences. The list of those experiences outline how he has helped boards and leaders address their most challenging issues.

Education: 

  • Eyerly Ball Community Mental Health: conducted a board retreat in the fall of 2018 and a follow-up retreat in 2019.  
  • Leading Age — Fall Leadership Conference: conducted a workshop for leaders on how to develop a governance partnership in the fall of 2017. 
  • Iowa Association of Community Providers — Spring Leadership Conference: led a plenary session on the use of strategy to position the organization for changes in Medicaid in the fall of 2016. 
  • Iowa Museum Association: conducted an all day workshop on board governance in the spring of 2014.
  • Iowa Hospital Association — Annual Governance Forum: conducted a workshop for leaders on how to develop a governance partnership in the spring of 2013.
  • Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines — Board Launch: conducted a workshop for board members aspiring to become board leaders in the fall of 2013.

  • Eyerly Ball Community Mental Health: as a consultant, I guided the board through a board restructuring and a review of its vision, mission and strategy. organizational renewal process. 2018/19
  • Iowa Association of Community Providers, Des Moines: as a board member I guided the board through a year long process to identify its vision, rewrite the mission, and restructure the governance structure. 2016/17
  • Pella Historical Museum: as a consultant, I worked with the board of directors to re-envision and renew the work of the board and its governance structure.  2014
  • Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines: as a consultant, I developed and tested curriculum for new board members (2011)  for emerging board leaders (2012) as part of the Foundation’s Board Launch program.
  • Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa, Des Moines: as a consultant, I worked with the board of directors to establish a governance partnership.  2008
